Awards & Credits
In January 2011, the Maebeth-led Visit Wales Ryder Cup PR program won "best of the year" in the Annual ING Industry Honors program.
In fact, Maebeth Fenton's contributions to tourism for the UK over several decades have been such that Queen Elizabeth II has awarded her an MBE in recognition and appreciation.
Maebeth has also contributed to the PR industry in her past role as Chair of the North American Airlines Public Relations Association (NAAPRA) and membership support of the Golf Writers of America Association (GWAA) and the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW).
The sine qua non of the industry -- the print and broadcast journalists -- have offered compelling testimony to Maebeth's skills and abilities, as revealed below. For example, her work with one highly respected TV journalist (once designated "the most trusted man in America") motivated him to write:
"Maebeth has a genius for recognizing the makings of a good story and the reputation for honesty and integrity that makes editors and producers know they should tell that story."
-- Walter Cronkite, CBS TV Journalist/Anchor (Deceased)
Commentary from other industry leaders includes the following:
"Maebeth can combine the delights of homespun humorous commonsense with an iron will to make sure that things are done properly, not only to the client's satisfaction but totally to hers. It's a gift given to very few."
-- Peter Alliss, BBC TV: ABC/ESPN Sports TV Broadcaster
"I've worked with Maebeth on a wide variety of editorial projects since 1997 -- from golf in Wales and Northern Ireland to reindeer driving in Finland -- and have always been impressed by her organizational skills, her seemingly bottomless reservoir of professional contacts, and her marketing savvy. I look forward to continuing our successful relationship in the run-up to the 2010 Ryder Cup"
